Joy
From a very
early age art has been part of my life. I
grew up in an artistic home, and with the help
of my mother I grew into quite an artist. For
years I watched her paint, and sew, and create
anything that she set her mind to, and in turn
my own passion for creating was ignited. I
started as most children do by making
mini-masterpieces in school, and as I got older
my skills became sharper and more
refined.
I
took classes in painting and sculpting, and in
my spare time I cross-stitched anything that
caught my attention. As an adult my focus
changed from cross-stitching to doll
collecting. From collecting came my
passion for creating. I have been creating
babies for over five years, but my talent goes
all the way back to my childhood.
Over the past
few years that I have been creating babies I
have been trying to perfect my various
techniques that make each baby unique, special,
and most of all as life-like as possible.
Although I love all of my dolls, I feel there is
always room for improvement so I am constantly
working on new techniques to make my dolls the
most beautiful and the most natural
looking. I have recently gone back to my
sculpting and hope to be producing hand-sculpted
dolls on a regular basis to be available on my
web site in the near future.
By constantly
stimulating my creativity everyone is guaranteed
to have a very beautiful, and completely
original doll. My babies have been featured in
largest doll show in Europe Ahoy Rotterdam, and
they were examined by some of the top doll
artists in the world including: Mariska
Mielens, Suzan Wolters, and her mother, the
maker of Huti Babies, Els Van Tricht; just to
name a few. Some of them even purchased my
dolls. I was also featured in the regional
Rotterdam newspaper.
This is a
little bit about my history of dolls so that my
customers know that I am an authentic artist at
heart, and that my babies are made with care and
